LIGHTING TECHNICIANS

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Primary role of the Lighting Technician is to set up and run the lighting boards in multiple lounges around the ship. You will be assisting with operating equipment for the evening’s Entertainment, as well as helping with daily shows and activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·      As Lighting Technician you will be assisting the Stage Manager with operating equipment for the daytime & evening’s Entertainment.

·      You will be maintaining strict safety standards, facilitating special group requests and ensuring the Lighting boards are fully maintained.

·      The Lighting Technician is expected to maintain and inspect all Lighting Equipment and to track all inventory in order to ensure that all supplies and equipment are available for each show.

·      Basic design and the ability to program the Lighting boards are essential.

·      You will NEED to be familiar with moving fixtures (rigs of around 100 movers).

·      The running of GrandMA and GrandMA2, ETC and HOG.

·      You will be required to run automated shows so there is time code and TC distribution to various devices.

·      Basic knowledge of operating Pyrotechnics is a bonus, but not essential.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have 2 years experience with hands-on programming and operation of live performance lighting
  • Must have experience with the WHOLE HOG 2 or 3 lighting consul.  The Hog PC is a computer with playback and programming wing.  This is good to have, but not the same.
  • Must have experience with Martin Intelligent Lights – especially MAC series. 
  • Maintenance and repair experience preferred

·      All staff MUST comply with all company policies and procedures, along with all maritime rules and regulations.

·      Participate in required Emergency duties as specified in the ship Assembly Plan.

·      Technicians are responsible for the maintenance of all equipment, including storage and inventory of all Equipment.

·      Assist in the facilitation of crew events, as needed.

·      Comply and engage in all safety training whilst onboard.

·      Execute additional job responsibilities.

It is your responsibility to ensure you have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (KMCC will provide you with documents to obtain this)

You must complete a pre-employment medical and obtain a criminal background check before being considered for an onboard position.

Cabins are generally shared with another crew member of the same gender, based on position onboard.

Contracts are usually 6 months long with 4-6 weeks vacation.
